{ Monday's Book Prescription: Remodelista }

Privacy with books!:

Join the Remodelista Team as They Hit the Road With Their New Book:

A real treat for design lovers, Remodelista is one of my favorite home decor books. It is fabulous. Not only are all of the homes featured well thought out and beautiful, the book is also an excellent resource guide. If I could only keep my top 5 design books, this would make the list.

{ In Transition }

minimal home interior design:

Hallways, stair landings, entryways. Transitional spaces that we so often forget to decorate. I love these spaces, they are tiny rooms that can have so much personality. So give yourself permission to try wallpaper, bold art, or experiment with new paint colours. These often neglected spaces can be magic.

{ Darling, What a Lovely Room }

Book Smart:

I would be quite happy to sit here with a mug of tea and a magazine. That's right, a paper print magazine. Just remember that not everything we read need be on a screen. Paper is gentle on the eyes, bringing with it a quiet satisfaction with the turning each page.

Hurrah for sleeping in, pajamas until noon and decadent breakfasts. Yes, let the weekend commence!

{ So Simple, it's Genius }

Classic Scandinavian Design in Action | Rue:

I was recently reading a design article that said something really clever. When doing a
Scandi colour scheme, think Oreo cookie. Black, whites, greys, creams and browns. It sounds silly, but that actually works, (I would also add plants). How marvellously simple.

{ Monday's Book Prescription: At Home with Madame Chic }

dreamy-library:

At Home with Madame Chic: Becoming a Connoisseur of Daily Life: Jennifer L. Scott: 9781476770338: Amazon.com: Books:

A really lovely read, showing you how to enjoy everyday life and see the beauty in it. Even better, Jennifer actually gives practical advice you can use right away. When I am at home with Madame Chic, my little world feels serene, in order, and each day can be a good day.

Craving solitude this weekend. Sometimes the sweetest sound, is quiet.

Kinfolk Magazine Issue Sixteen - The Essentials Issue.:

I wouldn't typically recommend a magazine publication as a book read. However, Kinfolk is so special that I couldn't resist sharing it with you. Full of thought provoking, beautiful articles on living well, art, lifestyle, interesting people and too many others to list. Kinfolk is published quarterly, each issue is a gorgeous 150+ pages of bliss, keeping me busy reading for days after it arrives happily in my mailbox. You can subscribe, or purchase individual issues according to your interests. Every issue of Kinfolk has a theme, one of my favorites is this one, the Essentials Issue. It really resonated with me, reminding me that I can curate my life, to slow down, and savour each beautiful day.

{ Let's Stay in Bed }

It’s all messy: the hair, the bed, the words, the heart, life.:

I love to turn by bed into a nest on the weekend. Read, drink tea, watch movies, and let rest and a sense of contentment soak in.

Puzzle Pieces:

In Living Color:

How refreshing, a home that looks lived in by a real person. I'm loving the creative vibe.

{Utility Can Be Beautiful}

palest French grey and white with scrubbed pine - belfast/butlers sink and Shelia maid airer - The Paper Mulberry: Laundry:

Weck Mold Jar (Set of 6) on Provisions by Food52. Such a classic. Would be great for storing small stuff in the fridge too.:

made by visually impaired craftspeople for Iris Hantverk:

Let us consider well crafted, handsome tools for cleaning and storage. I would so much rather hold a wooden broom handle worn soft by age, a pantry with rows of gleaming glass jars,
and a utility closet free of plastic and jarring product labels.
Let us turn the caring for our homes into a gentle and lovely task.
