{Let's Stay in Bed}

 :

Cancelled plans. Stormy days in old, comfy pajamas, snuggled in with hot tea and a good book under messy covers.:

It is the small, beautiful moments which bring such joy to our lives. Bask in the sunlight, feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, close your eyes, smile, and just soak in another sublime Saturday morning.

Even after all of these years, this may be my favorite bathroom ever. It is light, soft, a bit old, and full of calm and character. I simply adore it.

{Monday's Book Prescription: The Elegance of the Hedgehog}

                         :

  The Elegance of the Hedgehog (2008) by Muriel Barbery. I galloped through this book with great enjoyment, and look forward to reading it again. Finished 30th Nov 2015, first read.:

“The tea ritual: such a precise repetition of the same gestures and the same tastes; accession to simple, authentic and refined sensations, a license given to all, at little cost, to become aristocrats of taste, because tea is the beverage of the wealthy and the poor; the tea ritual, therefore, has the extraordinary virtue of introducing into the absurdity of our lives an aperture of serene harmony. Yes, the world may aspire to vacuousness, lost souls mourn beauty, insignificance surrounds us. Then let us drink a cup of tea. Silence descends, one hears the wind outside, autumn leaves rustle and take flight, the cat sleeps in a warm pool of light. And, with each swallow, time is sublimed.”

The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery is possibly one of the most beautifully written books I have had the pleasure of reading. Happy reading my dears.

{The Magic of Books}

Le Pont Traversé — Paris, France:

If you're looking to be charmed right out of your own life for a few hours, sit down with this wise and winsome novel.:

Let's start this new week by adding some beauty to our lives. Read "The Little Paris Bookshop" by Nina George. I loved this book, it was like a balm for the soul. I hope that it captures your heart and imagination as much as it did mine. But isn't that the real magic of books? They open our minds, engage our imaginations, they lift us up and enrich our lives. I simply cannot say enough about the pure delight we can derive from a good book. Happy reading my dears.

{Nancy Meyers , You Genius}

One of the things I love about Nancy's films, how she makes the homes into characters themselves.
I really could just move in.
